The Contract Specialist is an innovative role bargained in our union contract to help promote leadership development and contract knowledge for all KP union members. The Contract Specialist builds expertise and consistency in contract interpretation and implementation across KP by educating fellow members and identifying leaders. This allow Stewards time to focus on their facility and unit, offers members another resource when trying to make positive change at work, and ensures we have as many contract experts and shop stewards as possible. The specialist is familiar with both the local contracts and the national agreement, and while the position is paid by the employer, it is supervised by the union and works directly with the current UFCW 3000 Staff Representative as well as Employee and Labor Relations Consultants and LMP Manager.
