STEWARDS ARE KEY -Strong Leaders Create Change

Macy’s was not paying out the lump sum owed to members from the recently ratified Macy’s Furniture Gallery Contract. The employer owed these members $.50 an hour for all hours worked during a specific time frame. Union Steward Brenda Eaden repeatedly made inquiries to Management. After trying to get the matter settled informally Brenda and her union filed a formal grievance. Brenda stood up for herself and her co-workers and Macy’s paid out the lump sum bonuses, totaling over $30k, and also paid the current year’s bonus. Great workplace leaders like Brenda stand up for their rights and create change in the workplace.
