THE UNION DIFFERENCE - Scholarship Success

Marisa Nanakul, daughter of Safeway worker Maroot Nanakul, recently graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelor of Science in Informatics concentrating in Data Science. Marisa made a special point to thank UFCW 21 for our role in her education.

“I am proud to be supported by a union that values making higher education more accessible to those in need… The struggle for equality in the workplace and fair workers’ rights is an ongoing challenge. I thank UFCW 21 for playing a huge part in the pursuit of the greater good.I will do what I can to support workers’ rights in my workplace, as well as backing political candidates who share the same ideologies as this organization.”

Marisa will be starting her career as a Data Analyst. Congratulations Marisa!
