Members at LabCorp/Dynacare are negotiating a new contract. Safe staffing is an issue at their workplace and Management was refusing to bargain over staffing. After this refusal the Bargaining Team started a petition with their co-workers. With over 60 work sites in the bargaining unit, the team worked hard gathering signatures on weekends, driving from site to site on their day off, texting, calling, and emailing co-workers. In just 10 days they reached 70% (over 400 members) on the petition and delivered it to Management during bargaining.
This incredible hard work and unity changed the tone of the negotiations moving forward. Management came to the next bargaining session with a proposal on staffing.
