After two bargaining sessions so far, we are making progress. We have reached a number of tentative agreements in many areas of the contract, but we have a lot more work to do.

We are pleased to announced that the Local 21 Bargaining Committee has reached agreement with Olympic Medical Center on a tentative three year agreement for Clerical employees that raises wages, improves premiums, and cleans up and clarifies various inconsistencies in the current contract.

We Have a New Contract at Central Washington Hospital

By an overwhelming margin, Local 21 members at Central Washington Hospital voted on June 10th and 11th to approve a new contract that includes solid wage increases and major improvements on health care. Many union members at the hospital spoke out at the vote meetings to express their strong support for the new contract.

After union members at the Jefferson Healthcare Clinics voted on April 15th to reject a contract offer from the employer, we returned to negotiating — and the union bargaining team came back with a stronger offer, which we will be voting on May 1st.

After a long delay in bargaining due to concerns about health care issues, we have at least reached a tentative agreement with Jefferson Healthcare for a new contract. The agreement includes higher wages and reduces health care costs.
