All employees are entitled to and must demand safe working conditions. The State and the Union can work together to ensure this.

The Union has the right to inspect a worksite at anytime to ensure safe working conditions. Should you feel an unsafe condition exists, call your Steward or your Union Representative to discuss the situation.

We will work with the employer to remedy the situation or take appropriate legal action if necessary.

The Federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration has the power to enforce laws which affect safety and health at work. They also provide the ability to look up inspections and safety violations by workplace.

Washington State workers can also appeal to the State Department of Labor and Industries to enforce workplace safety rules in the state.
