UFCW 21 has been made aware of Providence’s desire to make changes to your Health Benefit Plans. We have already requested information from management to better understand and explore these proposed changes as well as any monetary impact on our members.

What’s Next: We are in the process of scheduling meetings with management and our individual bargaining units at each Hospital at the end of August or early September. Depending on each contract’s language, we will either be bargaining these changes with some Hospitals or having discussion with others. The specific right to change benefit plans can be found in the Management’s Rights article or in the Health Benefits article of your contract.

Be assured we are working  to enforce Providence’s obligations under our contracts and to mitigate the impact of a change on your take home pay while still maintaining a Health Benefits Package that meets your needs.

Get Informed: We strongly encourage you to go to your Hospital’s intranet site and use the Benefits Calculator to help you determine how each plan would affect you so you can share that information with us for our discussion/bargaining meetings.
