Union members turned out by the thousands to overflowing, standing-room-only meetings this week in Seattle, Seatac, Lynnwood, Bremerton, and Bellevue. The total vote was an overwhelming 94% to reject the employers' proposal and authorize a strike. Members from all departments and all four big chain stores showed unity — the unity needed to win a fair contract.
