Stephanie Morgan works at Seattle Children’s Hospital. She recently joined a team with three of her co-workers and traveled to Haiti to administer care to children hurt in the devastating earthquake.

In March, the team of four from Seattle Children’s set out to join an international medical mission to help the people of Haiti. “Once we arrived, we got the clinic organized, the rest of the week was hard work but fulfilling in the OR and in the clinic,” said Stephanie.

Medical needs were great and the clinic was very busy. In the clinic, she worked performing wound care, applying splints and casts, and gave some immunizations. About 18 surgeries were performed by the Team USA ortho surgeons. “The entire team was absolutely wonderful, so much camaraderie, mutual respect, support and love. “I was very proud to be part of such a sincere effort.”

Stephanie’s prayer for Haiti would be for international compassion that would aid in reform and rebuilding and a just and honest government that would be able to sustain the improvements.  She hopes that someday the people of Haiti will be able to receive the justice they so deserve.
