Why Become a Steward?

Union stewards play a crucial role in building our union’s strength. Stewards make sure everyone’s rights are protected. They explain the union to new hires, provide representation in disciplinary meetings, help organize co‑workers to stand up for themselves and each other, and more.

More stewards means more strength in negotiations, more power in Olympia and Washington, DC, and more effective contract enforcement in your workplace every day.

Topics to be covered include:

  • Role of a union steward
  • Legal rights of a union steward
  • Solving workplace problems

Please register in advance for one of the trainings by calling your Union Representative at 1-800-732-1188.
