Tentative Agreement Reached and Vote Meeting

Your UFCW 21 Bargaining Committee has reached a tentative agreement on a proposed 3-year contact. This was a very challenging round of negotiations because of the difficult economic environment; however the committee was able to make progress on wages, benefits, and increases.

Nothing but Takeaways

03/17/10 - The Union sat down with Duty Free America management to negotiate a new agreement. We went in with high hopes after a year of sacrifice on the part of the employees. After one year of working with a 10% pay cut we all expected something, anything from this company. BUT no, they came into the bargain with even more cuts. Fortunately they couldn’t cut the wages again without many being below the State’s minimum. Read more.

Bargaining Begins

03/05/10 - Bargaining got underway on Wednesday, March 3rd. The Union presented management with our list of proposals. The management team also presented us with their proposals as well. Management let us know that the Jefferson Mental Health is facing tough economic times. Their opening non economic proposals include converting our current annual leave, sick leave and other leaves into a PTO program. Changing professional positions to a salary based wage from an hourly rate of pay and other changes to current language. Read More.


National Car Rental
Contract Passes - 91% Saying Yes

'03/01/10 - Members from National Car Rental came out on Saturday, February 20th to discuss and vote on our new agreement. Negotiations were difficult as the new company came to the negotiating table with numerous take away proposals and language that would weaken our current agreement. All of you stayed united and we ultimately were successful in advancing our contract in many areas.  Read More.
