While funding is still a serious issue at Childhaven all employees will receive COLA’s or cost of living increases of 1% each year of the contract.

A summary of all changes will be available to employees prior to the vote. Members must be present to vote.
This is a recommended offer.
Anyone wishing to become a member can apply prior to voting.
Ballots will be counted at 1:00 PM.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact Union Representative, Erin Adamson at 206-436-6511 or Negotiator, Chuck Ardingo at
206-436-6512.This option worked best because it provides increases to all employees including those who are at the top of the scale.

Other improvements include, the training day for 2012 will be on Christmas eve next year, the employer will allow for voluntary layoff first rather than forced layoffs, and the employer will begin seeking an alternative to the current pay system to provide consistent pay each month.

This may take some time as changing systems often requires modification to the current internal systems which means a lot of work will be required.

Additionally, the employer has agreed to a wage re-opener in year two of the contract should the financial picture improve.

Finally, the Employer has agreed to keep health care rates in the CICGNA HRA Plan the same for the duration of the contract for those employees who participate in the wellness program.
This means that employees will have a way to become healthier and not pay increases which would eat into the raise that is being provided.
