Negotiations Still Far Apart as Bargaining Continues
With our community partners and unions across the country, we have been fighting for:
• Fair wage increases
• Improved scheduling
• Sick leave that protects us when we are sick
• Improved health care coverage
Unfortunately, management’s proposals have still fallen far short of our proposals. The bright side is we have made some modest progress with more than 10 new tentative agreements, such as:
• Addressing security concerns
• Seniority rights for temporary transfers
• Notification of Department locations and lunch hour changes
We have bargaining dates set for August 15 and 16. Your Bargaining Team is working hard to reach a fair settlement with Macy’s and we plan to bargain into the night if needed. Please continue to sign up for our August 25 action in Westlake Center. Look for our yellow and blue solidarity balloons!
