Macy’s Seeking Major Changes in Contract
![]() |
| Union Bargaining team member D’Andre Richardson (Downtown Macy’s) recently visited UFCW 5 in San Francisco to share and deliver our UFCW 21 solidarity petition. |
Management is seeking major changes in the contract, including converting to a new pay system, and buying out Sunday pay. They also want to convert vacation and holidays into a PTO system. Management continues to be evasive about how to make specific improvement to My Schedule Plus. As a Bargaining Team, we have repeatedly told Management that we need to resolve issues with My Schedule Plus before we can trust them.
Wrong Direction on PTO:
Management’s proposal does not provide protected sick leave for workers outside Seattle and continues to take away the intended benefit of the Paid Sick Days law for workers in Macy’s Seattle stores. If Management wants a conversion to a PTO program, it must protect our interests.
Next Action Steps:
Please contact your Union Bargaining Team Member or Union Representative to attend the Saturday, August 25th “Shop for a Cause” action, 11:0am-12:30pm at Westlake Park in Downtown Seattle.
Our next bargaining date will be July 31.
