Community is Concerned with MultiCare’s Actions

On January 20, a Community Delegation delivered a letter to Diane Cecchettini’s Executive Assistant in her absence, addressing MultiCare’s recent anti-union behavior. The delegation’s letter stated:
…We feel that your threat to have the Union Representative arrested for doing the work she has done for the past decade is unlawful, unjust and an out-of-balance intrusion on the rights of workers… It is a challenge to a basic worker right and is not acceptable. Click to read full letter.
Speaking on the Delegation’s behalf, Ron Richardson, the President of the Pierce County Chapter of the Alliance for Retired Americans, was very clear that MultiCare’s actions were unacceptable and the community was greatly concerned. He also stated that if MultiCare continued these actions, the community would become increasingly engaged in the matter.

Police Say Pam Can Stay Members were united in support during Pam’s recent visit to the MultiCare Cafeteria. While Pam was speaking to members in the cafeteria, MultiCare called the police. After some discussion, the police said Pam could stay. Pam will continue to return and do her work with members just as she has done for nearly 10 years. As a result of standing together, members have shown MultiCare that we will not be moved. |

MultiCare Implements Higher Health Care Costs Last summer/fall we got together to bargain the changes to our health care plan. While we were in negotiations, Management unilaterally decided we were done bargaining. This failure by Management to bargain in good faith is both illegal and a violation of our contract. In response we have filed an Unfair Labor Practice charge which is currently in process, as well as a grievance which is in arbitration. We will keep you updated as information becomes available. If you have any questions please contact your Representative: Pam Blauman at 206-436-6584, 1-800-732-1188 Ext. 6584 or Erin Adamson at 206-436-6511, 1-800-732-1188 Ext. 6511 |
