No Agreement Yet at The Doctor's Clinic
Vote Rescheduled for May 5, 2008
April 25, 2008
At our last bargaining session on April 23rd, Doctors Clinic management gave us their response to our union package proposal: it was a loud and clear “No.”
Management says that the wages they are offering are competitive already and the health benefits are good enough. And they don’t think it’s their responsibility to help employees with dependent medical coverage.
The Key Issues
Union members have said repeatedly that the key issues we need to address at the bargaining table are wages and health benefits. Management knows this, but they’ve offered a proposal that doesn’t do nearly enough on wages—and doesn’t do anything at all to change the current practice on benefits.
The Union bargaining team unanimously recommends you vote No and reject this contract offer. In order for us to make the progress we need on our key issues, we need to be able to return to the bargaining table with a strong message to Management that Doctors Clinic employees are united for a fair contract that provides competitive wages and affordable health benefits for everyone.
We urge you to attend the meeting to learn about the offer, cast your vote, and discuss our options for what steps we can take to persuade Clinic management to improve their offer.
